Bismark, North Dakota
It was a long day to get here, after spending the morning in Yellowstone saying hello to friends and soaking in the best hot springs on the west coast. Yellowstone now feels far away with the rolling plains, swirling winds, and a drop of temperature of 20 degrees as we drove 600 miles east. I woke up to the sound of wolves howling down at the Gardiner River, and I am going to sleep to the huuummmm of the heater in our room at the Motel 8. Scout is in here, in her bed, after spending the whole day shoved down in the foot well of the passenger side of the car. She complains the least out of the three of us and for that received pork leftovers from the super-nice dinner waitress earlier today. Good Night and Love from Adri

Whooo eeee! It is snowing here! I was going to be out of Portland today! But it just won't stop and apparently it is just going to get worse so my plans to on head up north today to see the family in Kingston are just not possible! So, instead I am about to break out the skis and do something totally decadent. I am going to ski to the Kennedy School and sit in their outdoor hot tub!
Sorry Carmen, I really want to be up in Kingston with you but I thought it would be bad for Christmas Spirit to spend the night stranded in a ditch. I am missing you so much and will try again tomorrow.

Well, I am still in Portland Oregon and it is snowing out. The house has exploded with all the things that are being packed, put into storage, goodwill pile, to send, to take in the car piles. We are planning on leaving the day after Christmas and stop in Yellowstone for a few days and then Minnesota for New Years Eve.
